A New Look | Our Patio

I am so very blessed to live in a beautiful home with my hubby and my dog Jackson. It will be two years this coming July (time flies!) and since we’ve moved in we haven’t had many projects around the house. Luckily, the house was pretty much perfect when we moved in which was very nice!

One of our favorite rooms in our house is our patio. We have a all-season screened in porch which is super awesome! We can slide down the windows when it’s warm and nice out… and then close up the room when it’s cold. It was installed before we moved in and it has been so nice to have.

With Spring around the corner, Ryan and I put some projects on the list that we wanted to do around the house to spruce things up. Since we live out on our patio we got motivated to tackle it so it was ready to enjoy once this crazy cold Virginia weather leaves for good! So… check out a quick video snippet of our patio BEFORE…

Two weekends ago we got up early on Saturday morning and headed to Home Depot to buy stain (“Early American”). We got home, I got to taping and Ryan cleaned and prepped the floor. What an incredible difference it made! Check out the before and after 🙂

While the stain was drying that got me motivated to rearrange our outdoor back porch. Love the new layout as it’s much more inviting for entertaining. Check it out…

We knew that we wanted a coastal-themed patio. There is something so relaxing and soothing about a beachy room. Now… it was time to hit Homegoods!! Mom and I headed out and we found a set of nautical lamps (obsessed!), nautical lanterns, an chabby anchor, some picture frames, flower pots, and more! I had some things laying around the house that I could use too. Last weekend we painted some furniture for the room too! We painted our end tables and I bought a cute bistro set that we painted too (“Waterscape” at Sherwin Williams).

That same day we continued our search for a new patio set. Not that there was anything wrong with how our patio looked before… our patio was just rather cluttered and we’ve been desperately wanting a patio set that could accommodate a large group (we love to entertain!). We wanted one that would be comfy to snuggle up on and durable enough to last forever! We searched high and low… Joss & Main, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Wayfair, Costco, Sam’s Club, Overstock… everywhere! I was shocked that we found THE patio set online with Home Depot. Now, let me back up, I’m a bargain shopper… I love me some Marshalls and TJ Maxx… I’m a Craigslist Queen! So to pull the trigger on a pricey patio set was a big gulp to swallow (but it was a good deal!). We placed the order and I thought it would take several weeks to deliver… nope! I got a call a few days later and it was delivered that following Friday! It came in 3 massive boxes. It was like Christmas morning! Ryan and I unpacked everything and got it assembled as quick as we could! The set it amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Our patio has transformed into a cozy, beautiful, relaxation station!! SO very proud of our hard work 🙂
